New camera and a little bit of shopping

So i finally got an SLR camera after coveting them for ages....

I picked up a Pentex K-m from a local Trade Exchange shop in Town, I can't take a picture of it as my other camera is at my sisters as she is borrowing it so ive added a link to show what it looks like here

The camera retails anything between £350 - £400 online as new.
I paid just over £200 which im very happy about.
I took it to my local park today and had a little go of it. Its difficult to figure out how to understand the settings so for now ive got it set on autopicture till i learn how to use the blimmin thing

I did a little bit of shopping on Friday before i had to attend a group meeting for depression as part of my ongoing therapy.

After walking in the park today i had ti pick up dinner and found this nifty little box in  B&M Stores for £1.99.

And here is where the box now lives.....

i also got this geisha money box from B&M Store for £1.99 a few week back

Positivity is the key.

Back to work...

Hello lovelies,
Im planning on going back to work this week after being off for 8 weeks.
Im not going to dwell on the reasons why ive been off other than to say im still not "fixed" or better but im getting there.

Im still low but its time i started thinking more positive.
On that note i bring you the fabulousness that is Flickr.

I have made a few galleries while i have been on and i can tell you that looking at pictures and seeing other peoples creativity has made me realise that i need to enjoy life more than ever.

Some of the work people have displayed on here is amazing. A real inspiration for me.

Ive started my own page with the pictures i have taken. If you want to look at mine then check out Jupiterjones1 on the site.

However, hubby and i went for a walk in the local park for some fresh air and to see what pictures i could take and my Little Sony Cybershot (who has served me well for 2 years) just doesnt have the zoom and power i want/need.

Therefore im giving serious thought to buying this little baba:

The link is an excerpt from a blog. It doesnt go on UK sale/release till 16th August which just happens to be the day after payday.

Im also going to be enrolling in a nightclass for Creative Hairdressing - Introduction: at my local community centre and the course is due to start on 28th Sept. Its only costing £48.00 for an 8 week course but i believe it will be a good start for me to get some experience in cutting hair.

My 2 main passions at the moment are taking pictures and thinking about becoming a hairdresser.

So with all this in mind today despite it being a rainy Monday afternoon i cant help but feel positive for the future im shaping for myself.

Instyle Magazine Sept 2010 issue giveaway

This months Instyle Magazine comes with a Bodyshop lip product Giveaway.

Instyle are giving away a lip and Cheek stain in 2 colours.
They are 8ml and i think this is a fullsize product. To buy the item retail in The Bodyshop they are £8.00 each.
There is Bronze Glimmer and Rose Pink.
I chose rose pink.

The product is thin in consistency, kind of like jelly before it has set.

Here is a picture with just 1 coat of stain:

And here is a picture with gloss applied over 1 coat  (H&M Strawberry and Mint):

If you wanted a more deeper colour then just wait till each application has dried and apply more.

I applied it over an hour ago and have been drinking Diet Coke and it looks like i only just applied it, wow staying power.

Ive never used lip stains before. Im going to give this a whirl because A it was free and B i think my pout looks delish.

Ambivalence

Hello me - I feel like in the only one who reads my blog sometimes.

I have been suffering from depression for a while now and have been using my camera to record pictures.

These photo's are part of an album called Ambivalence because although i own all this stuff its just sitting around gathering dust.

I am very lucky in lots of ways including the home i have and the family that i love and love me back.
However somedays its hard to even get out of bed.
Im not trivialising depression in any way shape or form. I just want my pictures to be a part of this time and recorded so i can look back and see how i was feeling at this time.
I will be uploading a few photo albums on here in the next few days. They are all part of the project im calling Black and White: A Treatment. 

I want to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Out of darkness should come light.
